A friend had shared how their father had passed away in an awful farming accident. The story explained how this father had been crushed in a tractor rollover accident and this man who loved his family dearly had passed away alone with no one around. It reminded me of how I felt as my father had passed away many hundreds of miles away suddenly and I never got to say goodbye. So as I sat there reliving those feelings of loss with my friend theses words came to me and gave me comfort. I wanted to share them with those who are dealing with the loss of a parent during this holiday season. I hope it gives you comfort as well.

 

  

I Missed Saying Goodbye

 

 

I know we parted without saying goodbye but that's ok.

I had a purpose while I was on earth and you are proof that I accomplished it.

I watch you everyday with great pride and joy in my soul.

I see you struggle with life's burdens and I am not concerned,

I know you will come through it all because you always have,

And it makes me proud.

I thank God everyday for allowing me the opportunity to share life with you.

God allowed me a peek at true happiness while I was with you.

But that happiness dulls in comparison to what he has shown me here.

Son, never be sad, never be lonely, never give up,

You are never alone as long as there is a God and I am tending his garden.

God has given you all that you need to survive,

And he has allowed me to open your eyes to it.

When the world seems to be crashing in on you

And all seems lost don't be concerned,

Ask for His help and wisdom and

Quiet yourself so that you may hear His answer.

Son there many things I would have told you or shared

But they are unimportant compared to the truth that you already know.

I love you and always will and I know that you feel the same.

Our souls are intertwined forever, and I would not have it any other way.

I know we parted without saying goodbye, but that's ok.
