It all began with a dream, written on a napkin from McDonald's, to help children and families learn the importance of saving money so one day they could access the American Dream. That's how Sammy Rabbit and the It's a Habit company started in 1998. After spending 10 years as a financial consultant and having clients regularly share with him their despair for not starting to save earlier in life, Sam X Renick decided to write a children story, later titled It's a Habit, Sammy Rabbit, that conveyed the importance of making saving a habit.
That idea attracted other talented and interested individuals who shared Sam's belief that saving needed to be encouraged and taught to children at an early age. So they all worked passionately together creating their first book, then a second - Sammy's Big Dream. That was followed by a music CD, training guides, workbooks, coloring books, stickers, and live author and character touring.
In fact, over the last 8 years, Sammy Rabbit and author, songwriter Sam X Renick have read to and encouraged over 250,000 children, parents, and teachers, in 6 countries and 30 states to get in the habit of saving. We are proud to share that many of those appearances have been to children of US military members.
The vision and mission is still growing.
