I have been collecting sand for about 10 years.  My sand samples are kept in test tubes so you can see the different varieties.  My most prized sand is from 1998, outside of King Tut's tomb, in Cairo, Egypt. So far I have about 32 samples, from places in the U.S., the West Indies and the Cape of Good Hope, in Africa.  It's a fun collection and doesn't cost a cent!
