My son joined the Marine Corps right out of high school 3 years ago. We are from a small town and not that familiar with the military and once he graduated from boot camp and began traveling all over the US and eventually the world, it was a real comfort to know that no matter what airport he was waiting at, the USO was always there to give him a safe place to wait for the next flight or just offer encouragement.
Until it was personal, my husband and I did not have any idea what the USO was continuing to do. We thank them with all our hearts.
