Murphysboro, Illinois - May 16. Adorned in costumes of the period and formal in proper style with gloves, curties and bows, a caller is on hand to help direct the dances and games after a big entrance and formal introductions. Held in the historical Event Center, the Ball is sponsored by the only Museum in the country dedicated exclusively to the life and times of Gen. John A. Logan, who was born and reared in Murphysboro. Check out www.loganmuseum.org. This event is the final celebration of the five-day Logan Days that includes hands-on learing for 4th and 5th graders, a vintage baseball tournament, and other adult activities.
