Grandmother Bunny's Baked Beans Recipe
Ingredients
½ to ¾ pound bacon slices, cut in half
Two 28-ounce cans baked beans
½ cup ketchup
½ cup cider vinegar
¾ cup pancake syrup
1 tablespoon dry mustard
2 cups diced apples, such as Gala or Jonathan
Instructions
Two 28-ounce cans baked beans

1. Preheat the broiler. Arrange the bacon on a pan and broil 6 inches from the heat source for 6 minutes, or until partially done.
2. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Combine the baked beans, ketchup, cider vinegar, syrup, dry mustard, and apples in a large bowl; mix well.
3. Pour the bean mixture into a greased 13 x 9-inch glass baking dish. Arrange the bacon slices on top.
4. Bake, uncovered, for 1 hour. Stir in the bacon before serving.
Serves 12.
