Cherry-Coconut Bars Recipe

Ingredients
Crust
1 cup all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons confectioners’ sugar
½ cup (1 stick) butter, softened
Filling
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup granulated sugar
¼ cup all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
¾ cup chopped walnuts
½ cup sweetened shredded coconut
½ cup maraschino cherries, drained and quartered
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
2. To prepare the crust, combine the flour, confectioners’ sugar, and butter in a medium bowl; mix well. Press the mixture into an 8-inch-square baking dish. Bake 22 minutes, or until lightly golden.
3. To prepare the filling, combine the eggs, granulated sugar, flour, baking powder, walnuts, coconut, cherries, vanilla, and salt in the bowl; mix well. Spoon on top of the crust and spread evenly. Bake 22 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from the oven to a wire rack. Cool completely before cutting.
