3/4 cup uncooked white rice
1/2 pound bacon
2 to 3 tablespoons bacon drippings
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
2 cups canned whole tomatoes, crushed
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon celery salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
1/2 pound bacon
2 to 3 tablespoons bacon drippings
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
2 cups canned whole tomatoes, crushed
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon celery salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1. Cook rice according to package directions.
2. Dice bacon and fry until crisp. Remove from pan. Reserve 2 to 3 tablespoons drippings in pan. Add onion and green pepper; cook over medium heat until onions are tender. Add tomatoes, black pepper, celery salt and garlic powder. Bring to a boil. Add cooked rice and crispy bacon and heat through. Serves 8.
