Richard Gere and Diane Lane star as an innkeeper and her guest who weather a storm together—and get pretty cozy in the process—in the North Carolina coastal community of Rodanthe. Keep the tissues handy as this tale of second chances begins its tear-jerking wrap-up. There are no DVD extras, a bit of a disappointment at this price. But fans of romantic movies will enjoy seeing two veteran actors portray a couple of grownups with some hard miles on the love odometer.

Watch Clint Eastwood’s movie career get off the ground with these four movies from 1968 to 1975. He’s a radio DJ dealing with a stalker in “Play Misty for Me,” an assassin for hire in “The Eiger Sanction,” an Arizona lawman on the trail of a murderer in “Coogan’s Bluff” and a wounded Yankee soldier taking shelter in a Southern all-girls school in “The Beguiled.” Bonus features include a documentary, interviews with Eastwood and his go-to director, Don Seigel, and a slideshow of the evolution of the ad campaign for “Play Misty for Me,” which was originally going to be called “The Slasher.”

Ed Harris directed, co-scripted and starred in this gripping 2008 Western about a pair of no-nonsense law enforcers (Harris and Viggo Mortensen) hired to clean up the New Mexico territory town of the title—a difficult enough task before a young widowed newcomer (Renee Zellweger) gets caught in the romantic crossfire. DVD extras include featurettes about the movie’s historical accuracy and how filmmakers brought the characters from Robert B. Parker’s novel to rip-roaring life.
