Boy Has Big Heart for Seniors and Animals

Slade Patrick Darrin, age 10, is a fabulous entertainer. He also has a great love for animals and a fondness for Seniors. Slade recently put his mind to work and created a way to bring joy and give aid to both groups. Over the past year, he has given 55 performances at local Senior Homes - playing the piano and telling jokes and stories.

At the end of each concert, he stays to visit and shake each Senior's hand, thanking them for attending his show. The residents of the 12 different homes for which he plays are always very happy to see him and appreciate his company, music and good humor.

Slade keeps 28% of the money he earns for himself and uses the remaining 72% to purchase food and supplies for the town animal shelter. Additionally, he donates to other worthy animal causes and charities.

Slade has a big heart and a big talent to back it up. A recent concert attendee commented to one of his parents "Just look at his eyes... they're so kind".
