My Amazing Kid

My amazing kid is Forrest Maxfield, from Sandpoint, Idaho.

After helping his dad build a 40 foot catamaran in the mountains of North Idaho for 9 years, their adventure was just beginning!

First they trucked the two hull vessel to Port Townsend, Washington, one hull at a time.  Next, the boat had to be reassembled, taken on a cruise around the Puget sound, and then  sailed 35 days to Hilo, Hawaii.

Mom, meanwhile, was telling everyone that Forrest was in  'God's pocket' since noone had heard from Forrest and his dad for over 35 days.

At fourteen years old, forrest is amazing in our eyes - anyone, especially a young teen, to sail with only one other person for 35 days in the open Pacific Ocean is totally amazing!
