Here in the small New Mexico community of Los Alamos County there are only 18,000 residents and over 400 volunteers who reported over 63,900 hours to our Los Alamos Retired and Senior Volunteer Program in 2007.  And that is just Senior Citizens.  That is  our lifestyle.  People helping people. 

Our hero is  a newcomer whose social existence is volunteering...as: an AARP Taxaide, Driver Safety Instructor, Blood Services, supporting disadvantaged students, Save the Children, Senior Center. etc,etc. Her goal is to "save the USA"  promoting math & science via changing our measurement system to Metric. She needs help with media attention.
