Mr. John Dreves has been collecting cans to help support the athletic program at Whitefish Township Community School in Paradise, Michigan.  Whitefish Township Community School is a small K-12 district located in Michigan's Upper Peninsula on the shores of Whitefish Bay.  Due to financial conditions and the hardships schools are facing, the community formed an Athletic Booster Club.  Mr. Dreve's has been a part of this group and decided that he could make a difference by collecting cans.  To date, Mr. Dreve's has collected 140,000 returnable cans which means he has deposited $14,000 into the athletic program.  His slogan of "one dime at a time" was captured by ESPN SportsCenter who aired a feature on Mr. Dreve's contributions.  Mr. Dreve's strongly believes that sports is more than a game.  Sports teaches students teamwork, dedication, respect, hard work, and discipline--it teaches students about life.
