Baby Layette Hero

Bernadine Elrod from Malvern, Arkansas has crocheted baby sweaters for many years.  The baby sweaters are given as a part of "Baby Layette" items for needy mothers, from the 1st United Methodist Church in Malvern, Arkansas. The church gives away 25-plus Baby Layettes each year.

Being in her 90's at the local nursing home, you would think she would retire from making all these sweaters.  She continues to make sweaters & now has started to crochet hats for children with cancer.

Mrs. Elrod certainly has been my hero since I was in grade school -- I'm now in my 50's.
