Dear Editor,                                                                                                        1/8/2008

My name is Terri Adams and I would like to take this time to tell you a little about My Aunt Mary Reinhart's Online Angels Charity.  Online Angels was started back in 2000 when Mary had a house fire.  She was very active online with charity groups and when she was hit with a fire, everyone she knew donated materials, money, and the basics to start all over again.

Mary and her husband Royce were so moved by everyone's act of kindness that she started Online Angels! Over the years it has grown to be a 501c3 Non Profit Charity with over 200 members world-wide.

All the members are volunteers that donate their time, money, and handcrafted items to Mary. The volunteers make granny squares to be sewn into Loveghans or Lapghans, they crochet or knit hats, scarves, gloves, mittens, blankets, diaper shirts, and onesies to children's hospitals, Women Shelters, our Troops, our Veterans and Reservations.

They also make prayer clothes to send to our Troops along with health and beauty aides and slippers. Our lapghans are donated to Nursing homes and Veterans homes and hospitals. If we receive a name of someone who is sick or dying, or who has someone who has died, we send them a Loveghan box.

We also have three big projects throughout the year. The first is our Back to School project, that is when all the volunteers send in items  all year round that the children would need for school, pens, pencils, paper, book bags, crayons, ect.  Name of children in need are submitted to Mary and she then asks the volunteers who can "adopt a child" from her list. They are giving the child's age, grade, clothes size and sex only to shop for.

Next is a Christmas Project, which is run basically the same, the volunteer "adopts a child" from Mary's list and buy that child one new outfit and toys. ( Not every volunteer can afford to adopt a child, but they send items in all year round which also helps.)

Our last project is our Christmas Stockings, our volunteers make or buy stockings and stocking stuffers all year and send them to Mary to fill by gender and age. These stockings go to all the children in the Christmas project, Nursing homes, children hospitals, Veterans homes and hospitals, Women's shelters and to the Reservations.

I think it would be Awesome to see an article mentioning our group in you newspapaer, that way we can get new members and our cause can grow!! We are in the process of trying to raise money to build a pole building to store all the wonderful items Mary recieves, her house isn't big enough to hold everything and her sheds get full fast to waiting for the next project time to ship!

Here is Mary's info so you can contact her directly:
