Chicken and Bread Days Heritage Festival — Bowie, 10/4 - 10/4/08
Festival celebrates rich history of our community and how boys use to sell fried chicken and bread to passengers on the trains that came through town. Many of these boys went on to be successful businessmen, including Amon Carter of Fort Worth. There is a fiddle contest, pedal pullers contest, art show, quilt exhibit, children's games, food, car show and vendors all along the brick streets of downtown.
