Article: Prescription for a Dying Town

I lived in Picher when I was a few weeks old to about 7 years then we moved to Chetopa. I remember the big mountains of chat and the many times I was in trouble for running off and playing on those mountains. I also was in trouble a lot for playing in the creek that ran through it. I visited Picher a couple of years ago and took some pictures of the places where I used to live and play. I also remember when it was a real thriving town.

KICKED IN ON MONDAY ABOUT THE TOWN AND ITS PEOPLE. THERE
MUST BE A HAPPY ENDING FOR THE SURVIORS. HOW MUCH MORE
MUST THEY TAKE? REAL PEOPLE WORKED HERE, WENT TO CHURCH,
SCHOOL, AND WERE A PART OF THE HEARTLAND OF AMERICA. MY
HEART GOES OUT TO THEM.
