As a proud "part-owner" of Ogygian, mentioned in this article, I just want to say that this is a charity that is worth your support. These horses are remarkable individuals who in many cases have been rescued from near-horrific fates. They have given a great deal of pleasure to racing fans in their time, in addition to passing on a legacy of incredible talent to their descendants. They deserve your support in their golden years.

I was privileged to visit Old Friends this past weekend to take part in a celebration welcoming their newest retiree, the great horse Wallenda. It was a great experience meeting Michael Blowen, all of the volunteers and supporters, the Flying Wallendas, and especially the wonderful horses. Old Friends is a marvelous, unique organization serving these deserving horses. I respect all of those great people who make it work so well.
