I always knew that Jiffy was a Michigan based company but I had no idea how close it is to me. I think I need to see about taking my 6 year old on a tour. She loved using a Jiffy mix in her new Easy Bake Oven. And, Lord knows, they offer a good cornbread mix! Thanks for the profile.

If you take the tour, tell them it was a mistake to stop making their pie crust mix. My Grandmother used it to make the BEST apple pies ever! I think she added a little butter to the mix. My wife got the recipe before Grandma died but it just is not quite the same with these "prefab" crusts they sell in the grocery stores today. Those "prefab" crusts just do not turn out as light and flakey as the Jiffy crusts did. My wife has been cruising the aisles of the stores for years trying to locate some more with no luck. If Jiffy still makes it and sells it anywhere between Billings, MT and Milwaukee, WI, I would appreciate hearing about it at chipbruss@tctwest.net I'd order a case or two and live out the rest of my life a happy man! I too had no idea that Jiffy was made in Michigan. Anyway, My grandma used Jiffy when I was a little girl. My mom also used it. I too love it. And for the person who said that the pie crust is the best wasnt lying. When ever I use it to make pies I get lots of raves about how good it is. My mom used to make the best cornbread. Now whenever I make chili I make cornbread in my old iron skillet and I put just a little frozen corn in it and my kids go mad. Most of my family is gone now, but I carry on the tradition of using Jiffy! It makes me feel like I have my family with me. Traditions carry on! Summerchild810
There have been several occasions here in Texas, due to location, that I have been unable to find Jiffy in the local stores. So when I do find it, I stock up. As far as I am concerned, it makes the best dumplings (I roll mine out and cut them) and "cathead" bisquits than any other mix. I haven't tried piecrusts yet, because of laziness, but I will next time.
