Ziglar article:
There was precious little in this article to distinguish Ziglar in my mind from your basic snake-oil salesman who hit it big. Maybe things are different in real life, but when I see mostly phrases like “masterful salesman”, “perfect his pitch”, etc., along with a background of selling things like sleep-teaching methods, I get kind of a sleazy picture. Most disturbing might be the reference to committing his life to Christ followed immediately by “That’s when my career exploded”, like career enhancement was the major benefit of that experience. Nowhere in the article are there specific cases of people Ziglar has helped (outside of his own staff) or insights into just what he does that “blows the crowd away”, only lofty platitudes and a discussion of how his own company has expanded.
