Comments: I'm married to a WWll Navy Radioman; aboad a communications flagship off the coast of Iwo Jima Feb 19-the day of the invasion. Carl is now 83 & would so very much love to see the Memorial. I've had a stroke & have drained our finances & his energy. I would love to see Carl somehow make a visit to the memorial. We live in AZ. We honor ALL vets & the effort put forth by Mr. Morse revives ones faith in humankind! Carl is a Mauldin, and we wish that Bill had been mentioned at the dedication of the Memorial. Every GI in WWll "knew" Bill Mauldin.

Thanks to Earl Morse for his efforts! My husband is a WWll Navy vet, was a Radioman aboard a communications ship off Iwo Jima & Okinawa's shores the days of the invasions. I know he would love to see the memorial & show his respect to the heroes of those and all other battles. (I'm a stroke survivor & financialy impossble for him to go).
We were sorry however that at the dedication of the memorial no mention was made of his kinfolk Bill Mauldin who was known & loved by all servicemen. May they all rest in peace.

Congratulations on a heartwarming article.
