Dear Mr. Imus,
I have watched your show on MSNBC for a long time. Thank you for brightening my mornings with laughter, great music, interesting interviews, and a big dose of "get over yourself!"
I've lived in the South for several years, and I get homesick for NY. You, Charles, and Bernie gave me morning reminders of that "New York state of mind" that seems crass, immoral, and insensitive, but really isn't. Gosh, sometimes I get so sick of Southern niceness!
Have you ever insulted women? Sure! Practically every day! I'm a woman and I laughed, often until tears messed up my makeup!
People need to realize that your comedy is not written in advance, rehearsed and censored before the show. It is enormously difficult to be quick-witted, entertaining, topical and funny, consistently, day after day.
Thank you, again, for helping me face some dreary days with a smile.
God bless you, your family, your ranch and the children it serves. Gosh, I'll miss you all.
Susan
P.S. Go ahead, everybody, call me a racist for appreciating Mr. Imus. I can take it: I'm a public school teacher and I'm used to it.
