What year was the Ford truck on Sanford and Son? What became of it?

—Bill Glunt, Tyrone, Pa.

The red 1951 Ford F-100 belongs to the Dimmitt family of Argos, Ind., which owns Dimmitt's Auto Salvage, and the vehicle was a star in their hometown's 4th of July parade last year. "Dad purchased it because he always loved the Sanford and Son show," says Steve Dimmitt about his late father, who was a junk dealer just like Fred Sanford (played by Redd Foxx). "He bought it in 1987 from William Mills in Elkhart, Ind., who had bought it from a charity auction" in Las Vegas. The 1970s series reruns on TV Land.
