Montel Williams, Patrick Labyorteaux, Tim Daly, Sasha Alexander, Trisha Yearwood

Whatever happened to Montel Williams? Did his multiple sclerosis force him to stop working?
—Jean Kester, Bloomsburg, Pa.

Williams, who just entered his 15th season with his popular TV talk show, is very much still working—and proud of his namesake program’s legacy. "I think people tune in because we talk about issues that affect their lives on a daily basis," says Williams, 49, who recently returned from Louisiana where he and FUBU clothing donated $1 million worth of garments to hurricane victims. As for his multiple sclerosis, "I have MS; MS doesn’t have me," he insists. Still, he acknowledges that he struggles with it every day. "One of the primary symptoms of the disease is depression, but I deal with it. I wake up every day and try to put my best foot forward and try to make the best out of every single day." Williams has homes in New York and Utah, where he spends his free time snowboarding, which he says counters some of his MS symptoms. He also is working on an album.

Was the actor who played Bud on JAG ever a child actor on Little House on the Prairie?
—Brenda Woods, Norway, Maine

Yes, Patrick Labyorteaux, who appeared as Lt. Bud Roberts Jr. on JAG, played Andy Garvey from 1977 to 1981 on Little House on the Prairie. His younger brother, Matthew, also was on Little House in the role of Albert Ingalls.

I really enjoy seeing Tim Daly and would like to know all about him—marital status, children and when I might see him in a new show.
—Twila Iverson, Clinton, Iowa

Probably best known from his starring role on the TV comedy series Wings (1990-1997), Daly had top billing in the short-lived 2005 TV series Eyes, co-directed and starred in a new film called Bereft, about dealing with grief, and produced and starred in another titled Edge of America. He has just finished roles in two additional independent films, Mr. Gibb and The Skeptic, but is not currently working in television. Daly and his wife, actress Amy Van Nostrand, were married in 1982 and have two children.

I am a big fan of the TV series NCIS and especially Sasha Alexander as Kate. Why did they kill her character off, and what is she doing now?
—D. Moss, Cartersville, Ga.

Alexander asked to leave the show, so executive producer Don Bellisario decided to kill her character—which, sadly, sometimes happens to Naval Criminal Investigation Service agents who risk their lives every day. But the actress isn’t sitting idle. Watch for her this summer making an appearance in the new movie Mission Impossible III starring Tom Cruise, Ving Rhames and Keri Russell.

Trisha Yearwood Reflects

Trisha Yearwood’s larger-than-life voice has helped to define contemporary country music for more than a decade. Her first album in four years, Jasper County, debuted at No. 1 on the country sales charts last fall and has been heralded as a masterwork. The Grammy-nominated CD has just been re-released with a very special addition: a duet with her husband, superstar Garth Brooks, on a song perfectly suited for the recently wed superstars, "Love Will Always Win." Jasper County, Yearwood’s 11th album, is a collection that comes from a period of re-evaluation, introspection and self-reflection for the Georgia-born singer. "I’ve never taken this long to make a record," she notes. "Everything is in the best perspective of my life, both professionally and personally. I feel wiser. I am just very, very happy."
