Raymond Burr, Neil Cavuto, Terri Clark, Off to War

I was a big Perry Mason fan. What did Raymond Burr do after the TV show ended?
—S. Gensun, Holbrook, Ariz.

After Perry Mason went off the air in 1966, Burr starred in another very successful TV series, Ironside (1967-75), in which he played a detective who was undeterred by the fact that he was confined to a wheelchair. In 1985, he reprised the role of unflappable defense attorney Perry Mason, already the most famous TV lawyer in history, in a series of made-for-television movies. Burr died of liver cancer in 1993 at the age of 76.

What’s the story behind Neil Cavuto? I love his down-to-earth reports on business and finance for FOX.
—Andrea C., Celina, Ohio

FOX News Channel anchor Cavuto is the host of two shows, Your World with Neil Cavuto and Cavuto on Business. Regarded as a genuinely nice guy but also a fierce interviewer, he also is a survivor and a fighter: He recovered from Hodgkin’s disease in the 1980s only to be diagnosed in 1997 with multiple sclerosis, a degenerative neurological condition for which there is no known cure. "There are days I need a cane, or I can’t walk around, or my eyesight is bad," Cavuto says. "Most of it is bearable." His colleagues admire his positive attitude. "He’s not a whiner," says FOX Television Chairman Roger Ailes. "He’s handled it as bravely as I’ve seen anyone handle that kind of situation."

Life Goes On for Terri Clark

"This album is almost a bit of an homage to why I fell in love with country music in the first place," Terri Clark says about her new CD, Life Goes On. "Twin fiddles and steel guitar—the stuff that makes you feel good when you listen to it." Life Goes On is about real people and real situations. The first single, "She Didn’t Have Time," is a bit of an autobiographical account of Clark growing up with a single mom. The Canadian-born artist penned several songs, including "Slow News Day," "Everybody’s Gotta Go Sometime" and "Tear It All Down," and acknowledges that this project pretty much mirrors her own life. "I am proud of the songs on this album and feel that they reflect many aspects of my personality and the direction my life is headed," she says. Married in September to her longtime tour manager, Greg Kaczor, Clark handled the planning of her Canadian Rockies wedding, the completion of the new album, the making of her new video and tour preparations the way she’s always conducted her life: without sweating the small stuff. "You always seem to end up right where you belong because life does go on," she says. "No matter what happens along the way."

Off to War - and back again

A new series on the Discovery Times Channel takes viewers along for the experience with a group of citizen soldiers from the Arkansas National Guard in Iraq. Off to War represents the first time in television history that a single unit of soldiers has been followed from the beginning to the end of their deployment at war. As the series spotlights these ordinary men discovering the harsh realities of their dangerous duty, it also reveals the lives of the families and friends they left behind. The upcoming episode on Saturday, Nov. 19 (10 p.m. Eastern), tugs at the heartstrings as the troops receive a heartwarming homecoming reception and prepare to re-enter civilian life.
