Heather Locklear, Delia Bell, Judge Judy, Sara Evans
I would like some information regarding LAX, starring Heather Locklear. Could you please tell me if the show will be returning or has it been canceled completely?—Diane M., Pennsylvania
According to Heather Locklear’s publicist, the show (which premiered on NBC in September 2004) has been canceled. Usually programs are canceled because of lack of viewers and/or lack of advertiser interest. As for Locklear, her most recent project was this summer’s movie The Perfect Man, which she says brought her a younger audience. Her own perfect man is husband Richie Sambora, guitarist for Bon Jovi, with whom she has a daughter, Ava, 7. While she was married to musician Tommy Lee for seven years (1986-1993), she says she knew it would be wise not to have children with him. With Sambora, she says, it is an "adult relationship," and they enjoy being together hanging out, working on the house or playing golf. Right now, she’s enjoying being a mom and says she’s comfortable not working. Born in Westwood, Calif., Locklear rose to public attention in 1981 with Dynasty and then returned in the 1990s on Melrose Place and Spin City.

What can you tell me about Judge Judy? How old is she and how can I get in touch with her?
—Marvin K., Wisconsin
Judge Judy, 62, now in the 10th season of her reality courtroom series, was born Judith Sheindlin in Brooklyn, N.Y. She graduated from the School of Government at American University in Washington, D.C., earned a degree from New York Law School and began practicing law in Manhattan in 1965. When asked about her decision to hang up her robes for television, she replies, "For 24 years I tried to change the way families deal with problems on a very small scale, one case at a time. Now I can use the skills I have developed and take my message to more people everyday." She also has published a few books—Don’t Pee on My Leg and Tell Me It’s Raining, Judge Judy Sheindlin’s You Can’t Judge A Book By Its Cover and a children’s book called Win Or Lose By How You Choose. Although her show is produced in Los Angeles, she lives in Florida with husband Jerry Sheindlin, who’s also a judge. They have five children between them, as well as 11 grandchildren. You can contact Judge Judy at P.O. Box 949, Hollywood, CA 90078.
Sara Evans Reaches a Real Fine Place
"This new album is so country," multi-platinum country star Sara Evans says about her fifth album, Real Fine Place. "But that’s the way I grew up singing, so I was just going into this new album thinking, ‘You know, I want to do more of that.’" Having sold more than 4 million albums, country radio’s most-played female artist of 2004 continues to set high goals for herself. "You’re always trying to exceed what you did before," says the 34-year-old mother of three who admits to listening to new material while she’s cooking supper in her New Franklin, Mo., home. Evans co-wrote six tracks on the new disc and made it a family affair with vocal contributions from her mother, father and sister, and production assistance from her brother. The current single, A Real Fine Place To Start, has proven to be just that as a recent No. 1 hit. A fine place, indeed, for a woman included on People magazine’s "50 Most Beautiful" list this year.
