Little People, Big World, The Red Green Show, Sarah Chalke
Q I'm a great fan of Little People, Big World. Could you tell me how many days a week and how many hours a day they film and how much of that they use to make one show?
Mary Vittetoe, Kirksville, Mo.

According to the publicist for the TLC series, there is no standard amount of time that goes into each episode. "Our team follows the Roloffs to capture the family's important moments, and those evolve into individual episodes," he tells American Profile. Parents Matt and Amy Roloff and their four children (Jeremy, Zachary, Molly and Jacob) live on a 40-acre farm near Portland, Ore. Matt, Amy and son Zachary are "little people" with forms of dwarfism.

Q What has happened to the star of The Red Green Show, and is the comedy series available on DVD?
Greg Harris, Reno, Nev.

After more than 300 episodes of the Canadian TV series about an inept handyman whose favorite tool is duct tape, actor Steve Smith, 63, retired the TV series at the end of 2005 and has since published a biography, We're All in This Together. The Toronto native is performing in a musical trio and writing a new book (as Red Green) titled How To Do Everything, due for release this fall. Smith also operates an online Facebook page as Red Green. The 1997-2001 seasons of Red Green are available on DVD, as is The Red Green Is Special DVD boxed set.

Q Now that Scrubs was picked up for another season, will Sarah Chalke be returning as Dr. Elliot Reid?
Christina Shumaker, South Burlington, Vt.

"I'm a romantic at heart, and I always thought J.D. (actor Zach Braff) and Elliot should end up together," says Chalke, 32, of the show's season-eight finale. But before she can answer your question, she needs to find out if her Lifetime TV miniseries, Maneater, will become a full series. She most likely will return to Scrubs for several episodes in the upcoming ninth season, but adds, "I don't really know what's going to happen, but it's so exciting that it's going to go another year. For all of us, it was such a gift that we even got to do an eighth. After the writers' strike, to get to come back and do a proper finale was really cool."
