My Brother the Hero Volunteer Firefighter .
My brother Cary Allen is a true hero. He is a volunteer firefighter for the Apple Springs Department here in our little town in Texas for almost 3 years. On June 23, 2007 him and his twin brother stumbled upon a wreck that occured after a hard rain. As they assesed the situation and made sure everyone was ok they left when the wrecker service pulled up. As they were crossing the road a vehicle traveling too fast hydroplaned into both of my twin brothers. My other brother Cody was just hit on his left arm, but Cary was struck on his left side of his body throwing him 30 feet in the air. Cary had his left leg amputated, stayed in the hospital for almost 3 months, and has had up to 15 surgeries so far with more to go. He is my hero because he was helping duing his civil duty as a volunteer and was hit. Now he is in a wheelchair till he has reconstructive surgery on his right leg. He cannot get around and is not the same person he was before and he really has had no recognition for this. I beileve he deserve all the praise for what he did and what happened as a result. He is now the Vice-president for the fire department till he can become active again, and is currently in college keeping his spirits up. He is a true hometown hero!
