Good Neighbors
My husband is finishing up his Air Force career, and when he does we plan to move to Queen Creek, AZ. We purchased a home there to retire in, and currently live about 7 hours away from it. We don't get to visit our home often; maybe 4 times a year.
We'd briefly met our neighbors across the street, Rob and Anita, and liked them immediately. Without our asking, Rob took it upon himself to take care of our property, pulling weeds, trimming our bushes and trees, and washing down our driveway. We were amazed at his selfless act of kindness.
This Christmas, we had a commitment at our church on Christmas Eve and couldn't arrive at our home in Queen Creek until Christmas day. When we pulled onto our street, we almost drove by our house. Rob and Anita, together with our neighbors Dave and Mary, had decorated our front yard with Christmas lights and a lighted Christmas sign. It was a small act of kindness that let us know that once my husband retires, we have a place to call home.
