Guardian Angel on the Freeway
In Jan of 2002, I tried snowboarding and ended up breaking my wrist in 3 places. I had 4 screws hold and external fixator in place on the outside of my arm.
One day driving myself to the doctor at the hospital 30 miles across town in Albuquerque with my young daughter, I got a flat on the freeway and pulled over between the freeway and and offramp. I called AAA roadside service and was told an hour even though I explained my situation. I stood outside with my bandaged arm while others just sped by. My daughter caught my attention as a man in a suit stopped, walked up and asked for my spare tire and jack. He tossed his tie over his shoulder and set about changing my tire. In a flash, he had me ready to go again and I tried to give him my last $5 I had to my name but he wouldn't have it. He wished me a nice day and disappeared as quick as he showed up.
I have thought of him many times since then and only wished to have thanked him over and over for his kindness and goodwill that was totally unconditional! He certainly was our guardian angel on the freeway! Thank you, wherever you are!
